Happy Halloween!

Hi Everyone,
First I would like to wish everyone a very Happy Halloween!! This is the first entry in my new blog that is also tied in with my new website http://czechoffthebeatenpath.googlepages.com/ . I would like to share my experiences of exploring places here, in the Czech Republic, that are "off the beaten path." These are tourist spots that are not typical for tour groups and others who come to the Czech Republic. I will also be visiting the more usual hot spots as I'm still very new to this country! Everything is an adventure at this point--even visiting the doctor, as I recently found out! :0) Occasionally I will also add information about other places, outside of the Czech Republic, that we visit.

A little background about me: I moved here, to Prague, Czech Republic, in December of 2006, so I'm just coming up on my first anniversary since the big move! I moved here to be with my Czech husband since the kids are now on their own and in college! It has been a very interesting and sometimes fun, sometimes difficult journey for me. But I have to say that I very much like being with my husband, rather than separated by 1/2 of the US, and with the whole ocean and 1/2 of Europe between us!!! And I really do love the Czech Republic. It is much different than living in the US, but that's OK...that's what makes this an adventure! While I do miss some things about the US, I have grown to love new things here, in the Czech Republic. So, in many ways, I really do have the best of both worlds!
